Fuel card – a way to cut costs

In 2007, UTA Polska issued over 40 percent more fuel cards than in 2006. It is forecasted that in 2008, entrepreneurs will be even more willing to invest in tools that improve the management of transport resources. Rising fuel and service prices are prompting an increasing number of companies to look for ways to control costs and save money. Polish entrepreneurs have recognized the benefits of using fuel cards. This is most likely influenced by increasingly strong competition in this sector and the requirements set by contractors.

– We see the effects of our efforts in disseminating knowledge about the benefits of using fuel cards among carriers and fleet managers – says Bartłomiej Jórczak, Development Director at UTA Polska. – Using fuel cards primarily means saving time, more effective driver control, as well as significantly lower transport operating costs and greater work efficiency.

Using the cards is convenient, effective, and significantly improves fleet management. The user receives comprehensive service from a single partner across Poland and Europe, ranging from settling fuel payments, road tolls for highways, tunnels, and bridges, 24-hour emergency service, to detailed reporting on fuel consumption. By having a fuel card, a driver can choose stations belonging to various concerns, so they do not have to plan a route taking into account the location of stations of a single fuel supplier. UTA Polska has the largest network of stations cooperating with fuel card operators among companies offering this type of service. The improvement in the financial liquidity of companies using fuel cards is provided by collective invoicing twice a month with a deferred payment term of up to 30 days.

Each card is secured by an individual PIN code and assigned to a specific vehicle, which further improves security in case of loss, theft, or attempted abuse.
