Fiege has opened a new logistics center in Belgium. The 30,000 sqm Mega Center will serve Bobcat, a company involved in the design, production, and distribution of construction machinery and specialized attachments. Fiege will be responsible for order management, transport, and distribution of equipment across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. At the same time, it will provide value-added services.
The Mega Center is located in Puurs near Brussels, in the immediate vicinity of the airport and the Antwerp-Brussels motorway, which ensures easy access to the port of Antwerp and thus allows for the optimization of the delivery process. A complex of facilities with a total logistics area of 30,000 sqm has been located on a 100,000 sqm site. Next to the center, there is a special 10,000 sqm zone adapted for storing nearly 500 machines, as well as a specialized wash bay where machines transported to the center are cleaned.
– Bobcat is our long-standing client, whom we have been serving since 1998 in terms of spare parts logistics at the logistics center in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Now, thanks to the opening of the new center, we will significantly expand the scope of our cooperation. As part of the services performed at the Mega Center, Fiege conducts quality control of Bobcat products: Fiege specialists check whether the machines are operational and meet technical requirements. Equipment that does not meet specific standards or requires improvements is sent to a workshop located on the premises, where it is properly prepared. As part of value-added services, the company also installs attachments to machines at the client’s request.
