The paper discusses the results of research on fuel atomization using high-pressure gasoline injection performed by two injectors placed in a constant-volume, constant-pressure chamber. The main indicators of the fuel spray were analyzed: penetration, observed fuel spray area, and its velocity, both in relation to a single fuel spray and two sprays in an opposed and angular configuration. An assessment of the uniformity of the penetration and the area covered by both fuel sprays was carried out. An increase in the fuel spray volume and a reduction in its propagation time were demonstrated during opposed injection, assuming equal fuel dose sizes (equal total injection time for a single dose and two opposed fuel doses).EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL INVESTIGATIONS ON THE GASOLINE ATOMIZATION WHEN INJECTED BY TWO HIGH-PRESSURE INJECTORS
The paper discusses the results of experimental and numerical investigations into fuel atomization with the use of two high-pressure injectors fitted in a constant volume chamber of constant pressure. The analysis mainly relates to the parameters of the fuel spray: spray penetration, observed fuel spray area and its velocity in reference to both a single fuel spray and two opposite fuel sprays. The assessment of the uniformity of the fuel spray penetration for both sprays has been carried out. (…)
