European solutions in the field of city logistics as an example for Polish cities

Efficient management of logistic flow streams has a significant impact on the development, functioning, and economic efficiency of modern cities. Interest in urban problems forms the basis for the increasingly widespread application of City Logistics principles.

It should also be remembered that apart from the obviousness of improving the city’s logistic service function, every city is a socio-cultural entity, and as the architect Renzo Piano – designer of the church dedicated to Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo – recently reminded us of this characteristic of the city by citing the words of the Italian writer Italo Calvino (1923-1985) from his "Invisible Cities":
"In the city, do not admire the seven or seventy-seven wonders, but the answer it gives to your question".
