The system will result in the optimization of warehouse operations, including inbound and outbound processing, facility management, storage, inventory, as well as planning and ad-hoc operations. Thanks to a direct connection to the database of warehouse and transport programs, the PMS will generate detailed reports on labor intensity as well as efficiency in individual areas of Wincanton’s activity. Thanks to the results obtained, Wincanton will be able to more effectively resolve important issues related to planning and resource allocation. Thus, the company’s logistics department, having the latest data on employee performance at its disposal, will be able to very precisely plan resources when designing new solutions or improve the efficiency of existing ones.
– This solution is particularly useful in the case of warehouses serving several different clients. The data obtained will enable the creation of a tool for assessing employee performance, which in turn will allow for the calculation of warehouse and cross-docking operation costs. The PMS implementation project began last autumn at the Wincanton branch in Błonie. First, pilot tests were carried out, which resulted in the optimization of the new system’s operation, while at the same time allowing errors to be avoided during its actual implementation. The system has been implemented in all company locations.
