The public sector participates in many infrastructure projects and plays a very important role in them. There is always a concern about whether public funds have been invested properly. The matter is simple when municipal land is transferred for the construction of a road or a city bypass. Opening a road to traffic gains local authorities the sympathy of residents (although there are known conflicts with those living closest to the newly opened road investment). It is worse when the same land is transferred for the construction of a sports facility, amusement park, or office building, and the investment drags on, the investor delays construction, the financing bank seizes the assets, and residents’ complaints and press investigations begin in search of shady deals and connections.
The construction of logistics centers belongs to difficult investment projects, and without the participation of the public sector, their implementation is almost impossible. Having had enough of failed domestic initiatives, it is worth looking at successful investments. An example of strong public sector involvement in the implementation of an investment is the construction of a logistics center in Graz, Austria.
Cargo Center Graz logistics center

Specialists note that the investment worth 130 million EURO is a model example of financing the construction of logistics centers under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Investment expenditures totaled 130 million EURO, of which:
– 50 million EURO accounted for expenditures on land acquisition, underground infrastructure, as well as roads, parking lots, and railway sidings
– 65 million EURO accounted for expenditures on cubic facilities, 15 million EURO was spent on equipping the cubic facilities.
