DSV SOLUTIONS relocation

DSV Solutions has signed a five-year lease agreement with Panattoni Park Czeladź. The company will move to the new warehouse in October 2010.

Upper Silesia and the Zagłębie region are the most industrialized and densely populated areas of Poland. For logistics operators, this means high demand for both supply chain services for manufacturing companies and distribution to retail chains. The proximity to Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as the short distance to the Hungarian border, influences the interest of trading companies in this region. International distribution centers for Central Europe are located here. The DSV Solutions branch in the Silesia and Zagłębie region was previously located in Sosnowiec. The new facility, located in nearby Czeladź, has a slightly larger warehouse area, as well as a more conveniently arranged office and social area. Many companies will use the new warehouse. The main contractors will be Kärcher, Red Bull, Barentz, Trelleborg, and Vulcascot.

– Changing the location will allow for a comprehensive reconstruction of the racking system. Reorganizing the entire high-bay warehouse would not have been possible without disrupting current operations – says Krzysztof Redkowiak, Managing Director of DSV Solutions.

Thanks to additional docks, the warehouse in Czeladź will also become one of the largest transshipment terminals used by the sister company – DSV Road, which deals with road freight forwarding.

– Our priority task is the development of international and domestic groupage, and the excellent location of the terminal in Czeladź will greatly help us with this – says Mariusz Jaworski, Director of the South Region at DSV Road. – We are focusing here on groupage lines connecting Poland with Southern Europe: Italy and Spain, but also neighboring Czech Republic. We work closely with other DSV Group representatives in Europe in this regard.

DSV Solutions will begin operations in the new warehouse in October 2010. Krzysztof Redkowiak emphasizes that the move will in no way negatively affect the company’s operations and will be practically unnoticeable to customers. The transfer of warehouse stock will take place on weekends, without stopping current service.

– In 2008, we moved a much larger warehouse in Teresin without disrupting daily operations – recalls the Managing Director of DSV Solutions. – These experiences will help us carry out the operation in Czeladź even more efficiently.
