DHL launches new LCL service from the USA

DHL has announced the launch of a new LCL service from New York to Vienna and Klaipeda, streamlining trade from the USA to Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. The new connections are part of a strategy to launch solutions supporting American companies in the current economic and business environment.

Through Danmar Lines, the internal carrier of DHL Global Forwarding, the new weekly LCL connection to Austria enables deliveries up to five days faster, thereby increasing efficiency and competitiveness. Currently, US exporters can ship their goods from New York to Austria every Thursday. The “port-to-port” delivery takes only 14 days, allowing goods to reach markets in Eastern European countries, i.e., Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, and Hungary.

The “port-to-port” connection to Klaipeda is operated on a bi-weekly basis on Tuesdays, reducing transit time by five to seven days. The new direct service to Klaipeda connects US exporters with Baltic markets in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Minsk, and Kyiv in 18 days.

– The introduction of the LCL service to Vienna and Klaipeda, along with a comprehensive supply chain covering origin pickup, consolidation and deconsolidation, delivery to the destination, and customs clearance, expands DHL’s global reach. – said Tara Caputo, Head of LCL, North America. – The certainty of fast and reliable solutions, complemented by excellent service, care for the natural environment, and the use of state-of-the-art technologies – this is exactly what customers expect from us as a provider of choice. – adds Caputo.

Since the beginning of the year, DHL has launched nine new connections from the United States. Currently, the company operates the largest LCL network with over two million cubic meters of freight per year.
