DHL Express in the film industry

DHL Express has become the official Logistics Partner of the 49th Krakow Film Festival.

As the Logistics Partner, DHL Express was responsible for collecting and delivering film reels to Krakow on time, and subsequently, after their festival screening, collecting and delivering them to the next recipient indicated by the KFF organizer. The company also provided customs clearance in every country of origin and destination for these valuable shipments – unique film copies were often transported to the Krakow festival. The biggest challenge from a logistics perspective was coordinating transport times – films, regardless of where they were sent from, always had to arrive on time before the next screening.

– For us, the busiest time begins a dozen or so days before the festival, when we have to bring in films from various parts of the world – said Edyta Turkiewicz, Marketing Communications and PR Director at DHL Express. – We are proud to be able to contribute to the organization of such an important and prestigious event. Especially since many of our employees are true enthusiasts of good cinema.

A dedicated DHL Express team was responsible for handling the Krakow Film Festival, including the Customs Agency in Pyrzowice and the customer service department – the international shipment monitoring section. The Customs Agency’s tasks included completing all formalities related to efficient customs clearance of the films, both in the country of origin and in Poland. In turn, the international shipment monitoring section continuously checked the status of shipments arriving in Poland – from the moment of dispatch, through subsequent stages of transport in the global DHL Express logistics system, to delivery to the festival organizers in Krakow. Film shipments were monitored in the global track&trace system, which ensures a quick response in the event of a potential delay.
