DHL Express for e-commerce

DHL Express (Poland) has prepared a package for the B2B and B2C e-commerce market. It includes both transport services and additional options supporting the logistical process of serving customers of online stores and companies that distribute their goods via the Internet.

DHL Express solutions have been adapted to support the needs of customers who use the Internet as a sales channel. Due to different requirements regarding delivery times, delivery can take place in three standards – by the end of the next business day and as part of time-definite services with a specified delivery time – DHL DOMESTIC EXPRESS 9:00 (express delivery of ordered goods by 9:00 AM the next business day) and DHL DOMESTIC EXPRESS 12:00 (express delivery of ordered goods by 12:00 PM the next business day). The package includes additional services that can support mutual financial settlements between a company or online store and its customers. These include COD, i.e., cash on delivery and return of funds, and ROD, under which DHL Express returns confirmed documents attached to the shipment’s waybill. The package also includes a free RECIPIENT PAYS service, which guarantees the price for the recipient as agreed between DHL Express and the company or online store for shipments delivered by the end of the business day.

As part of the package, companies and online stores can use numerous DHL Express service solutions. These include both the order placement process itself and subsequent tracking of its fulfillment. Orders can be placed by phone via the Contact Center, the website www.dhl.com.pl/zamowkuriera, and through the eCAS computer program, which directly connects the online store’s system with the DHL Express system. Installed free of charge, it prints waybills, for example, which significantly streamlines the process of sending a larger number of shipments. Online stores or companies that have regular recipients who order products at specific times and in specific quantities can streamline the shipping process itself thanks to standing pickup orders. A helpful option is the e-Notification about domestic shipment delivery available at www.dhl.com.pl/e-powiadomienie. As part of this feature, information about the current delivery status of a specific shipment is sent to the provided e-mail address (depending on the address entered – sender or recipient). Messages are transmitted from the moment the shipment is picked up by the courier until it is delivered to the recipient.

– E-commerce is one of the fastest-growing market segments today. From the perspective of a courier company, it also has specific requirements regarding the customer service process itself. By offering a dedicated package of services, we have focused on meeting the expectations of this group of customers – said Paweł Lazar, Director of Direct Sales at DHL Express (Poland). – Now we will closely observe the changes and trends occurring in this market. This will allow us to propose further solutions for its effective courier service.
