DHL and Airbus Join Forces

Airbus (EADS Group) has selected DHL Solutions, the logistics division of Deutsche Post World Net, to provide logistics services related to the production of aircraft wing parts, the supply of spare parts, and the planned production of the Airbus A380 aircraft.

<\/SPAN>The main goal of the cooperation is to optimize the supply of spare parts for aviation companies and for the Airbus manufacturing plant in Toulouse. Optimization will be achieved through a logistics system utilizing the proximity of warehouses and factories. Since the end of 2004, the DHL Solutions team has already been working in three locations: at the J. L. Lagardere plant where Airbus A380 aircraft are produced, at the DHL Solutions „Eurocentre” warehouses in Toulouse where components for all Airbus aircraft models are stored, and at the wing parts manufacturing plant for the rest of the Airbus fleet, also in Toulouse.
