The service life determined based on the potential properties of a material differs from the actual wear period of the materials of interacting components. This forms the basis for developing methods to compensate for tribological wear during component operation. Using the example of a lathe tool – workpiece cutting node, the expediency of using electrolytic deposition of metallic coatings to protect the system against tribological wear was justified. In this paper, the electrical energy consumption in the zinc coating deposition process and the impact of this process on energy consumption during turning were evaluated. A thin zinc coating reduces tribological wear in the cutting system and serves as a protective layer for low-alloy steel substrates.Computer-aided solid modeling programs: CAM, CAD, Inventor, 3D
Solidworks, Mechanical, and others, with established structural material properties based on tests according to PN (ISO) models – samples [1,2], allow the design idea of a machine and each of its components to be realized in a very short time frame. The manufacturing period for components is also shortened through the use of CNC machine tools. They are used for (…)
