Firma Oponiarska Dębica SA will produce popular and highly regarded van tires for various brands across Europe. It also plans to maintain the leading position of the Dębica brand in the passenger car tire segment.
Firma Oponiarska Dębica SA, part of the Goodyear group, will, as of January 1, 2006, produce tires of various brands belonging to the parent company that are more popular on the European market instead of Dębica-branded van tires. These will include, among others, Sava brand tires.
This decision stems primarily from the need to optimize the brand portfolio within the Goodyear Group. This will allow for more effective promotion of the van tires produced in Dębica under various brands, which enjoy greater popularity in Europe than the Dębica brand. At the same time, it will enable even more dynamic development of the Dębica brand, which will become a classic passenger car tire brand.
– The change will bring tangible benefits to all stakeholders. Firstly, we will expand the size range of van tires in the “budget” segment, so our customers will have a wider choice. Secondly, for example, the Sava brand in this tire segment is better recognized in Europe than the Dębica brand. As a result, the availability of our tires outside of Poland will increase, which is of no small importance for van drivers – said Jacek Pryczek, Sales Director of Firma Oponiarska Dębica SA.
Van tires in the “budget” segment, produced at the Dębica factory under the Sava brand, will be compatible with the Dębica brand tires currently available on the market. They can be mounted on the same axle provided they have identical treads as well as speed and load indices. In the event of a complaint or damage to a Dębica brand tire that does not have an identical counterpart in the Sava brand, the customer will receive two Sava tires.
In the case of Sava tires, an additional benefit for the customer will be an extension of the warranty period to 5 years while maintaining the current price level for new Sava tires in sizes replacing Dębica brand tires.
