Database of e-document templates

The Central Repository of Electronic Document Templates (CRWDE) is one of the main elements of the electronic trade support platform – eHandel, implemented as part of the program adopted by the
Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland for the years 2003-2006 “Creating mechanisms and structures for the development of electronic commerce in Poland”. CRWDE was created with funds from the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development with the cooperation of employees of the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing and employees of Comarch SA.
CRWDE is a database of electronic document templates and models of business processes in which these documents are used. The primary task of the repository is to collect and share unambiguous and up-to-date electronic document templates, allowing for the
streamlining of business processes, financial services, and logistics processes in an enterprise. One of the goals of CRWDE is to standardize documents in such a way that only certified business documents are circulated. The repository is an important element allowing for the improvement of business contacts through the standardization of activities in business processes, enabling the use of previously defined and accepted business process specifications in transactions performed based on electronic document templates obtained from CRWDE. By design, the CRWDE system will be one of the elements of the internet trading platform, and its main task is to provide mechanisms
for handling B2B contacts, i.e., supporting electronic business (it is also possible to support B2C and B2G contacts). To fulfill its tasks, CRWDE must store information that is used by enterprises during electronic cooperation, which includes:
1. Information about entities – information regarding a company, necessary for its unambiguous identification on a global scale when exchanging electronic documents. Examples of this information are address data or the GLN identifier.

2. Information regarding business profiles – this is information constituting a description of an enterprise’s cooperation capabilities in an electronic data exchange environment. This set of information is saved in the enterprise’s cooperation profile. Examples of such information are, e.g., the network transport protocol, the type of packaging of information sent via the internet, etc.
3. Information regarding business processes – this is information constituting a description of processes occurring in an enterprise. This information includes data describing business process models in an electronic manner.
4. Information regarding electronic document templates – this is a set of information that companies can send via the Internet in the implementation of electronic business activities. Electronic documents are a representation of business documents used in common cooperation, such as: invoice, order, or waybill. The set of information describing document templates is specified in documents of global document template standards such as, e.g., xCBL, EAN.UCC, EDIFACT.
