Better in rail transport

CTL Logistics – one of the leaders of the rail freight transport market in Poland, after summarizing the results of the first half of the year, is looking to the future with increasing optimism. Since January, CTL Logistics has transported over 8 million tons of goods, which is about 10% more than in the same period of 2010.

Better in rail transport

According to the latest data from the Office of Rail Transport (UTK), CTL Logistics ranks second in the ranking of rail transport companies in terms of transport performance. It is also the third largest company in Poland in terms of the volume of goods transported. In the structure of transport in the second quarter of 2011, coal and coke transport continued to dominate, accounting for more than half of the transported mass. In the first half of 2011, the private carrier achieved a transport performance of over 1 billion 930 thousand tkm, which is about 24% more than in 2010, with a transported mass of over 8 million tons. The results achieved place it on the podium among the most popular freight transport companies used by the industry.

– Currently, for CTL Logistics, one of the key directions of development is the transport of goods in cross-border traffic on the Poland-Germany route as well as within Germany, between container terminals, through CTL Logistics GmbH. We are a company that successfully cooperates with contractors from across the Oder, so it is natural that our intensified efforts to gain market share in transport are directed at the western border. Furthermore, we are investing in terminal infrastructure in the East. We therefore assume that these two directions of development will generate very good results for the company this year – explains Jacek Bieczek, President of the Management Board of CTL Logistics.

Starting from 2011, all transport sectors in Poland, after several years of weak results, began to record an increase in transport performance. Breaking the impasse caused by the crisis in European economies is slowly but systematically contributing to the rebuilding of business relations in key sectors of the economy, including the transport industry. This has already been shown by the data for the first half of 2011 published by the Office of Rail Transport. If all companies achieved results as good as CTL Logistics, it can be assumed that 2011 in the railway sector may be promising and full of development investments.
