BCS Polska to implement a warehouse management system at DPD Polska

BCS Polska will implement its proprietary bcsTiger warehouse management system at the Polish branch of the international courier company DPD Polska. The system will be responsible for streamlining and optimizing warehouse processes.

By using the bcsTiger system, DPD Polska will gain a tool that will allow it to collect data on shipments and goods receipts, manage inter-warehouse movements, and monitor staff performance. An additional improvement will be the ability to analyze internal warehouse transfers using advanced reports, which can later be transformed into business intelligence.

– The bcsTiger system includes, among other things, conducting inventory – both those planned by the warehouse manager and those created context-free by warehouse workers. Thanks to inventorying a selected part of the warehouse, there will no longer be a problem of blocking the operation of the entire warehouse – stated Filip Michera, Sales Department Manager at BCS Polska.

The system allows for clear tracking of stock levels, providing a full picture of the hall divided into zones, rows, columns, levels, and storage locations. Marking locations in the warehouse with barcodes makes the work of warehouse staff fast and seamless, and every warehouse movement is planned and recorded. Thanks to the use of portable terminals, warehouse employees will gain mobility and direct control over the orders being processed.

– The system implemented by BCS Polska will enable the automation of data exchange processes between contractors and DPD Polska warehouses. Defined communication modes will allow for flexible adaptation to the client’s internal and external systems. An additional advantage is access to a web module, which allows for real-time: placing orders, checking stock levels, adding a new product to the catalog, and much more – said Robert Szymański, Logistics Projects Manager at DPD Polska.

The delivery of all system functionalities is scheduled for March 2010.
