Developing an effective enterprise architecture enables the documentation, management, and analysis of complex structures and serves as a bridge between corporate strategy, business processes, and IT systems. As a result, it is possible to continuously reduce costs related to the development, maintenance, and operation of IT systems in both the medium and long term. Leading IT analysts, such as Gartner and Forrester, place IDS Scheer among the market leaders in the field of Enterprise Architecture Management and Business Process Management. As a member of The Open Group – an independent organization focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between companies – IDS Scheer supports the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) enterprise architecture framework. Certified for the TOGAF methodology, the ARIS Platform enables the development of IDS Scheer clients’ enterprise architecture based on a widely used standard, which, combined with the industry-leading ARIS Solution for Enterprise Architecture Management, allows for optimal IT support for business processes.
IDS Scheer is also launching the ARIS IT Inventory tool – a new product within the ARIS Solution for Enterprise Architecture Management. It is a solution that supports companies in planning their IT landscape and optimally aligning it with the requirements arising from business processes. Knowledge of corporate processes and business-critical IT systems is crucial for delivering an effective, centralized approach to application management within complex, heterogeneous IT environments, while ensuring that the scope and level of IT impact on the business perspective is understood, thereby enabling the management of this area.
The new ARIS IT Inventory product equips the solution with an additional, web-based, user-friendly component for maintaining knowledge about applications, technologies used, and technical IT infrastructure information. This new functionality has been designed to enable the publication of IT architecture information on the corporate intranet while providing users with web-based input screens for entering and supplementing data regarding the applications and technologies used. Administrators and system designers have access to IT system data from the central ARIS repository based on their organizational roles, and through a user-friendly portal interface, data can be easily and quickly modified or updated.
The ARIS Platform uses this IT system inventory to create a complete environment supporting IT resource planning based on an integrated database, which is the ARIS Repository. Companies now have the ability to store up-to-date information about their IT architecture at any time, as well as create plans for its development. Current information in this area enables efficient and rapid response to the changing market situation and continuous improvement of business performance.
