As part of the work undertaken, a series of simulation analyses of the dynamic properties of a multibody model of a five-section tram were conducted. The objective was to reduce the value of an index defined for assessing travel comfort. The parameterized model allowed for changing selected characteristics of the suspension system, which were treated as decision variables for the task of improving the model’s properties. Vibration acceleration values recorded during runs at specified speeds were used to determine the comfort index value. The paper presents the results of a sensitivity analysis of the comfort index and the determined configurations of suspension system parameters for which a reduction in vibration acceleration was observed.ANALYSIS OF IMPROVEMENT POSSIBILITIES OF TRAVELING COMFORT WITH THE APPLICATION OF SIMULAITONS OF TRAMWAY MULTIBODY MODEL
Within the scope of the work there have been performed a number of numerical analyses of dynamic properties of the multibody model of five-piece tramway.
Reduction of value of index defined to assess the comfort of traveling has been assumed as the object of work. Parameterized model has allowed for the change of selected characteristics of the suspension system which are treated as decision variables for the task of improvement of the model properties. Values of vibration accelerations measured while vehicle run at assumed velocities have been used to calculate value of comfort index. In present work the results of sensitivity analysis for comfort index as well as found characteristics of suspension system for improved model are presented. (…)
