Wincanton Logistics Workshops – not enough dialogue among logistics professionals

The Logistics Workshops “Supply Chain – Myth or Reality? Challenges for logistics in serving retail chains,” organized by the Wincanton Logistics Forum in April this year at the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw, attended by over 80 managers, executives, and prominent specialists from across the country, demonstrated the great need for lively discussion within the Polish logistics community, regardless of whether they come from academic circles or practice.
“There are many different conferences, competitions, and logistics forums in this country. And that is good. But there is a very noticeable lack of honest exchange of experience and lively discussion about the problems troubling the Polish logistics community. Therefore, the idea behind this meeting of scientists and practitioners is to discuss various solutions already in use and those we would like to implement. And if even one of our problems disappears, it will mean that this forum makes sense,” stated Ryszard Warzocha, Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Wincanton Trans European.
During the plenary session of the Workshops, which were held under the honorary patronage of the British-Polish Chamber of Commerce and media patronage of “Logistyka,” Prof. Włodzimierz Rydzkowski assessed the logistics services market after one year of Poland’s membership in the European Union. In his opinion, our EU membership did not cause sudden changes in the TSL market, as, among other things, the adjustment process has been ongoing since 1991, the market is international in nature, and the logistics market of the new EU countries will grow at a double-digit rate, while in the “old” countries it will grow at a single-digit rate.
