In issue 4/2003 of “Logistyka”, addresses of schools and universities where one could acquire knowledge in the field of logistics were published. This list consisted of 4 tables containing information on logistics education in: post-secondary schools, private higher education institutions, and public higher education institutions, as well as separate information on postgraduate logistics studies. This was the first attempt to collect and present this information in a synthetic form, which – as it later turned out – quickly found followers in some other logistics media.
Due to the fact that the previous, first arrangement of information, among other things, did not indicate universities specifically focused on logistics education, and furthermore combined several groups of information recipients (in one place there was data for people furthering their secondary education (post-secondary schools), those obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree (higher education), and those supplementing their knowledge at a postgraduate level, and in the same table, without any distinction, there were universities with logistics majors and those where, for example, a mechanical engineer or an officer acquires a logistics specialization), we decided to refine the current compilation.
In accordance with the question posed in the title, we present universities where one can study logistics and, separately, those where this field of knowledge is a subject of specialization within other professions.
The compilation is for informational purposes only. For details, please inquire at the appropriate dean’s offices or the relevant admissions committees for a given university. One should not rely on information provided on the Internet, as it is quite rarely updated, and outdated data is not deleted. When calculating education costs, one should take into account the fact that university authorities are not very willing to disclose all charges. It is also almost universal to hide the substantive outcomes of studies. Specializations are usually introduced only in the final years, and there is never a guarantee that by making a decision about a field of study, we are simultaneously guaranteeing ourselves a given specialization. It should be expressed that we will learn logistics most fully at universities focused on this field of knowledge.
