TNT has launched domestic courier services in India. The company will invest approximately 100 million euros in India over the next five years. This expansion will make TNT the first international company to offer both international and domestic transport services in the country, utilizing an integrated air and road network.
In line with its expansion plans, TNT has increased the number of its facilities in India from 17 to over 50, and by the end of 2006, this number will exceed 144. By that time, the team will consist of 1,600 trained employees. The company has expanded its warehouse space from 860,000 to over 3,200,000 square meters. TNT’s fleet in India includes over 1,000 vehicles – they will cover approximately 300,000 km daily.
