Silesia is becoming the country’s logistics hub, according to the report “Investment areas in the Upper Silesian Agglomeration” by Metropolis Commercial Real Estate (a Silesian commercial real estate consulting firm). In the last few years, approximately 200,000 sqm of modern warehouse space has been built in Silesia, and the largest investments of this type in southern Poland will soon be completed: Parkridge Distribution Center Silesia in Dąbrowa Górnicza and ProLogis Park Chorzów (approximately 140,000 sqm of space). According to analysts, the huge boom in logistics space in Silesia is due to its favorable location and the densest network of road and rail connections in the country. The proximity of industrial areas in the Czech Republic and the rapidly developing Slovakia is also of great importance. The heavy industry in this region and the strong position of the automotive industry also continue to play a significant role.
