Robert Bosch has chosen Kuehne + Nagel

Robert Bosch has chosen Kuehne + Nagel to operate its new distribution center in Wrocław, signing a contract for its development and management.

In June 2006, a distribution and warehousing center operated by Kuehne + Nagel Poland will begin operations, handling automotive products, power tools, and heating technology products for Bosch for the Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia region.
The 11,000 sqm center is located in Prologis Park, 15 km southwest of Wrocław.
Its location along the E35 route (Wrocław – Prague) and near the intersection of the A4 (Berlin – Wrocław – Kraków – Ukraine) and E261 (Poznań – Wrocław – Vienna) routes will enable Bosch to offer all customers customized deliveries. An additional advantage of this location is its proximity to the Wrocław airport, which handles direct flights to Warsaw and Frankfurt.

The Bosch warehouse will store over 25,000 items, for which Kuehne + Nagel will implement comprehensive optimization solutions (unloading, quality control, customs clearance), receipt, storage, proper shipment preparation, JIT deliveries, and delivery to the final recipient.

This will enable Bosch to optimize the management of total transport and distribution center costs for the entire region. This is due to the synergy effect achieved by consolidating supply management for several countries and divisions, as well as maintaining access to competitive markets in the supply countries.

Stanisław Lukowicz, Country Manager of KN Poland, said: KN Poland is strengthening its position by continuing investments with our long-term partners like Robert Bosch. This is aimed at reinforcing our market reputation in supply chain management. We are proud that a company like Robert Bosch is satisfied with our cooperation and has chosen Kuehne + Nagel to implement this type of project. It is a challenge for us. Wrocław is an ideal location for both companies for operations in the southwest direction, and we believe this will lead to further development.
