The establishment of the PCC Rail SA Holding in April is the next stage in the development of the PCC AG group on the Polish market in the logistics and transport sector.
The PCC Rail SA holding company includes the following entities: PCC Rail Szczakowa SA, PCC Śląskie Linie Kolejowe sp. z o.o., PCC Tabor Szczakowa sp. z o.o., PCC Kochem sp. z o.o., PCC Cargo GmbH, PCC Cargo SA, PCC Rail Containers sp. z o.o., Kolej Nadwiślańska sp. z o.o., PCC Spedkol sp. z o.o., Euro-Line GmbH, PCC Rail Sea sp. z o.o., PCC Rail Morava sp. z o.o., and PCC Rail Coaltran sp. z o.o. The consolidation of all logistics and transport companies within the PCC AG group aims to streamline and improve the services provided on the domestic and European markets. By leveraging the financial and marketing resources, as well as the trust and international prestige of its owner, PCC Rail is becoming a strong holding structure, responding to the market demand for comprehensive transport and logistics services.
The business activities of the PCC Rail Group include comprehensive logistics and transport services, as well as the management and provision of railway infrastructure, siding operations, and the repair and maintenance of rolling stock. Thanks to the consolidation of the logistics and transport potential of the existing companies and an integrated development strategy, the PCC Rail holding already carries out 21 percent of all freight transport performed by private railway carriers. In 2005, the companies belonging to the Group transported a total of 11 million tons of goods, performing a transport output equal to 1.15 billion tkm, and achieved sales revenues of 465 million PLN, which is 55 percent more than in 2004.
