More aircraft for TNT

Courier company TNT Express has signed a contract with GE Capital Aviation Services for the delivery of two more B 737-300 SF aircraft.

The aircraft, with a payload capacity of 16 tons, will be integrated into the TNT Express European Air Network in August and December 2006, respectively. The introduction of the new machines will increase the company’s efficiency, bringing the total number of this type of aircraft used by the TNT air fleet to nine.

– We are extremely satisfied with the development of the B 737 model since the first machine of this type was added to our fleet in 2003. These are reliable and cost-effective aircraft – especially great on routes where lower payload capacity is required – says Niky Terzakis, Managing Director of TNT Airways.

Like the 737 aircraft currently operating at TNT, the new models will be converted for transport purposes by the Israeli company IAI/Bedek and modified to meet European Category IV noise standards.
