Tourism is movement, displacement, getting to know the environment, and discovering its material and spiritual beauty. Tourism is the consumption of human cultural space. The importance of tourism for humans and their environment was reminded to the world by the United Nations, which proclaimed 2002 as the International Year of Ecotourism, i.e., a form of tourism in which behavior consistent with environmental protection requirements is respected to the greatest extent. Tourism is a form of recreation, and its necessity in the balance of human life was noted as early as the beginnings of European Christian culture by St. Benedict, the founder of the Monte Cassino monastery, in 512.
Logistics is a challenge for the operability of the recreation system and the development of tourist culture. The starting point for characterizing the concept of logistics is thinking in terms of value and benefits. Logistics in tourism means the application of an innovative tool for managing tourism infrastructure and superstructure, bringing evident benefits in both the sphere of production and the sphere of consumption of its services.
The logistics of tourist culture is, in essence, a specific distribution logistics, with work performed by various systems of cultural infrastructure (intellectual, infrastructural, technological, transport, etc.). Service-oriented distribution logistics means the process of coordinating all intangible activities that must be carried out to perform services in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with customer requirements.
