Intermec (www.intermec.com) – a manufacturer of rugged mobile computers, has introduced the latest mobile computer, the Intermec CN3.
The Intermec CN3 was designed to meet the requirements of mobile workers who need a powerful and durable tool for data processing and barcode scanning in extremely harsh working conditions. The Intermec CN3 is therefore an ideal solution for transport, logistics, distribution, and retail.
The device is equipped with virtually all currently available wireless communication standards: WAN (GPRS/EDGE or 3G CDMA/EV), WiFi, and Bluetooth. The Intermec CN3 is also the world’s first rugged computer equipped with a GPS module for satellite navigation. For barcode scanning, an area imager reader is used, which allows for reading barcodes in any orientation (the barcode is illuminated not by a single line, as in standard barcode readers, but by a CCD camera – therefore, you do not need to aim precisely at the code as with laser scanners). The terminal can optionally be equipped (instead of a barcode reader) with a 1.3-megapixel digital camera. The terminal is available in versions with a numeric or alphanumeric (QWERTY) keyboard.
The Intermec CN3 is a device highly resistant to external factors: it can operate in temperatures from -10°C to 50°C, and it is also resistant to drops from a height of 1.2 m, as well as water and dust (IP54 housing rating).
