Currently, logistics plays an increasingly important role in enterprise management, which is why there is a growing need to treat it systematically and to shape its functions and the processes it implements. Logistics activities (planning, controlling, organizing, and monitoring) as a coherent system significantly influence the development of an enterprise, in this case, a hotel.
A properly selected location for accommodation facilities influences the development trends of the hotel industry and determines the utility of services. Hotels located in areas that are travel destinations can satisfy more customer needs and have a better chance of increasing demand.
Decision-making regarding hotel equipment affects the feelings of the customer staying at the hotel, and therefore the quality of the service. Furnishings and equipment, as well as additional amenities, depend on the hotel category and standards established according to technical and operational documentation.
The efficient functioning of hotels depends on the management system established by hotel management, which is related to the material structure, functional structure, and efficiency.
Definitions and concepts of logistics known in the literature can also be considered in terms of:
– conceptual-functional
– subject-structural
– efficiency-based.
This means that in the conceptual-functional aspect, logistics can be understood as a certain concept of managing the flows of goods and information, in the sense of a set of methods and functions of planning, controlling, organizing, and monitoring, based on an integrated and systemic approach to these flows.
