Higher efficiency with lower energy consumption thanks to the use of alternating current

In conditions where high handling capacity and favorable operating costs for forklifts are required, a forklift with an AC drive should be chosen. Steinbock has been offering such a solution for a long time.

AC forklifts are environmentally friendly; furthermore, they are characterized by very high operating comfort. They can be called the “Turbo version” among other forklifts – internal combustion forklifts cannot compete with their dynamic acceleration parameters. This is due to the way forces are distributed in the motor. In the low RPM range, there is a very high torque. Also, when high torque is required, there is no loss of RPM. At the same time, the expected characteristics are very progressive: there are no gaps in torque. Therefore, the comparison to a “Turbo” suggests itself.

It is not only the high parameters that speak in favor of the AC drive, but also the favorable operating and maintenance costs. Savings on a 2.5-ton AC forklift, based on calculations in accordance with VDI 2695, amount to over 25%.
