Forklift Gas Power Supply

Gas trucks – part 1

FLT liquid gas is half as expensive to operate as electricity, and furthermore less toxic than diesel and gasoline. Gas can be used in trucks originally designed for it, as well as in diesel-powered vehicles that have been converted. Forklifts powered by liquid gas require less frequent servicing and are not subject to long downtimes.

Classifying forklifts by application, we can distinguish: pallet trucks, high-lift trucks, reach trucks, counterbalanced trucks, order pickers and system vehicles. Classification by forklift power supply is also important. They can then be divided into: manual (pallet), AC battery-powered (pallet, high-lift, reach, counterbalanced, order pickers, system vehicles) and internal combustion (gasoline, diesel, gas). Gas powering of trucks is increasingly popular, also among users of passenger cars and vans. This is driven by economic reasons and the expansion of the offer of these trucks by manufacturers.
The abbreviation FLT often used in logistics (eng. fork lift truck) means a forklift truck. When talking about FLT gas, we will mean the use of liquid gas to power forklifts.

Liquid gas – as a fuel for forklifts – has all the advantages of diesel and electricity: adequate lifting capacity and the ability to move on uneven ground, combined with cleanliness, low vibration levels and quiet operation. Problems such as limited battery life and time lost for charging are eliminated, because engines powered by liquid gas can operate around the clock. Thus, savings on downtime are maximized. A truck powered this way can operate efficiently for the entire time allocated for it.
