First tenant at the Poland Central logistics park

The Poland Central logistics park, a new investment by the E2 fund, has gained its first tenant. Europolis has signed a lease agreement with the Rossmann chain for over 10,000 sq m in the first warehouse, which will be commissioned at the beginning of September this year.

Rossmann has signed an agreement to lease 10,000 sq m of warehouse space and 340 sq m of office space. Rossmann is currently one of the largest drugstore chains in Europe, operating in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary. In Poland, Rossmann is a market leader, with a network of 250 self-service stores located in all major cities across the country. The company is actively expanding – it intends to open several dozen new locations this year.

Poland Central is a new investment by the E2 fund, owned by Investkredit and the EBRD and managed by Europolis. The park currently has the largest available warehouse space in Poland. The first warehouse, which will be commissioned at the beginning of September this year, has an area of 43,000 sq m. Ultimately, the Poland Central logistics park will feature 20 halls with a total area of 500,000 sq m. The value of the entire investment, which is scheduled for completion in 2014, will amount to 172 million Euro.

The Poland Central logistics park is located on a 120-hectare plot. The facility is situated near Piotrków Trybunalski, 47 km south of Łódź and 137 km southwest of Warsaw. The facility is located near the A1 expressway, connecting Warsaw with Katowice and the Silesian macro-region. Its central location allows for convenient connections to Gdańsk, Kaliningrad in Russia, and the Baltic republics to the north; and to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary to the south. In this way, a strategic logistics center will be created, ideally situated not only for companies from Poland but also from all over Central and Eastern Europe.
