Microsoft announced that Delta Trans has decided to implement the ERP II enterprise resource planning system, Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta.
Delta Trans is a transport company established in 1989. Initially, the company’s operations focused on handling parcel transport. Over 15 years of experience, the company has expanded its network of branches and created a fleet exceeding 250 road transport sets for both international and domestic transport. Domestic forwarding provides services in the field of full-truckload transport as well as forwarding and logistics services for domestic contractors.
Delta Trans decided to invest in a new ERP system because the previously used solution was outdated and did not meet functional requirements. Additionally, the previous application operated in a DOS environment, while the forwarding management and invoicing system itself runs under Windows. The flow of information between these applications was difficult. At the same time, the existing solution did not fulfill the tasks set by the company’s finance and accounting department in terms of performing economic analyses and monitoring the results of current operational activities.
The new system will start operating in January 2005, and all purchased modules will be implemented. The completion of the system launch stage is planned for the end of March 2005. MakroSoft from Katowice, a certified Microsoft Business Solutions partner responsible for implementing Microsoft Axapta, will launch the following system modules at Delta Trans: financials, fixed assets, bank management, business analysis, database log, and record level security.
Delta Trans is a company with branches located throughout the country (customs agencies). Communication between the company headquarters and branches required the use of a WAN network, which was impossible within the systems used. The implementation of the Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta solution will enable efficient information flow between individual branches and, thanks to its high modification capabilities, will fully meet the needs and adapt the system infrastructure to the specificity of the company’s operations.
The management of Delta Trans also considered choosing the IMPULS BPSC system. – However, we chose Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta because it gives us the opportunity to conduct all types of operations from a single application, allows for data consolidation, and ensures easy data exchange with other systems based on the SQL mechanism. The business analysis module was also very important to us – said Adam Rams, CEO of Delta-Trans.
