Compendium of goods warehousing – a new addition to the LOGISTICS LIBRARY series

The book titled “Warehousing of hazardous, industrial, and food products” has just been released. The work presents requirements for warehouses and warehousing processes resulting from the conditions for storing goods, and also discusses the impact of packaging, warehousing, and transport on their quality. This comprehensive study, prepared by a team of authors representing the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing, the Poznań School of Logistics, and the Poznań University of Economics and Business, consists of three parts.
Part 1 presents requirements for warehouse facilities and technological warehousing processes, and characterizes storage conditions, taking into account the physicochemical and biological properties of the products described in the subsequent parts of the book.
Part 2 discusses storage conditions, types of packaging used, and labeling principles for most hazardous substances, preparations, and materials. This part contains rich sources of information in the form of legal acts, standards, and safety data sheets.
Part 3 is devoted to the storage, packaging, and transport conditions for 14 basic industrial product sectors, including metallurgical, construction, paper, glass, plastics, fertilizers, textiles, leather, cosmetics, and household goods. It also presents storage conditions for food products.
The book is intended for those managing warehouse operations and supply chains, as well as for employees of raw material, semi-finished, and finished goods warehouses, and wholesale and retail warehouses. It should also be consulted by students of commodity science and participants of various types of courses.
