The law requires the property owner to report the construction of a fence facing a road, square, street, railway tracks, or other public places. If one wishes to erect a fence higher than 2.2 m, they must also have a permit for it. It should also be remembered that the fence should not exceed the property line.
When fencing, one should also be aware that the fence should be light, openwork, and have gaps amounting to 25% of the openwork surface. Only in certain cases can a fence be solid, e.g., on the side of a very busy, noisy road.
It should also be remembered that the fence must not pose a threat to people or animals; therefore, sharp ends or barbed wire cannot be used on fences up to 1.8 m. Polish law also stipulates that the gate and wicket must open towards the property so as not to cause difficulties for other road users. And the width of the gate should be at least 2.4 m.
The crowning achievement of a property fence must be a good, functional gate, which can just as well be an ornament. If we additionally apply automation to the gate, which will rid us of padlocks and chains, the fence can become a convenient addition to everyday life, in addition to being aesthetic and elegant. Rain or shine, the automatic system will open and close the gate itself. However, one must remember to use devices from proven, reputable companies; otherwise, the gate may become blocked. One such recognized company is FAAC.
