Electrical discharge machining is a key technology used in the production of tools, molds, and dies, involving the processing of tool steel materials. Electrical discharge machining technology allows for the production of components with very high precision and surface smoothness. However, an improperly designed process or poorly selected parameters can degrade surface quality, and consequently, the functional properties of the product. This paper highlights those elements of the process that can affect the surface quality of the machined material.Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a key technology used in the production of tools, molds, and dies. The devices used for this purpose are electrical discharge machines – sinker EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) and wire electrical discharge machines (WEDM – Wire Electrical Discharge Machining)
