The paper presents the results of research conducted at ITWL regarding the development stages of integrated avionics systems and the communication standards used for their integration. The general section presents the characteristics and classification of integrated avionics systems. The classification was made based on: the type of integration and the standards of information transmission between avionics system units. Regarding the type of integration, systems with analog signal transmission, digital signal transmission, digitally integrated, and modularly integrated systems were discussed, among others. The detailed section presents the following data transmission protocols: ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553B, STANAG-3910, Hi-Per 1553, AFDX, and Ethernet. The implementation of this topic was accepted for funding by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as a research and development project.REVIEW OF TYPES OF INTEGRATION AND DATA TRANSMISSION STANDARDS AS APPLIED IN THE HELMET-MOUNTED CUEING SYSTEMS
The paper has been intended to present results of the AFIT-conducted studies on the progress in types of architecture of the integrated avionics systems and data transmission standards applied to integrate them. Some selected types of the integrated avionics systems, i.e. the distributed analogue architecture, the distributed digital architecture, the federated digital architecture, and the integrated modular (also digital) architecture have been discussed in “Generalities”. In the part on the particularities, presented are some selected analyses and short descriptions of data transmission standards used in the integration of avionics: ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553B, STANAG-3910, Hi-Per 1553, AFDX, Ethernet.
This project has been financed by the Ministry of Science & Higher Education of Poland as a scientific research and development project (R&D). (…)
