This paper employs constitutive models of heterogeneous hyperelastic fiber-reinforced materials. These models, proposed in the authors’ works [3,4], reduce to classical models of fiber-reinforced composites with an elastomeric matrix reinforced by several families of high-tensile strength fibers. It is assumed that the fibers deform one-dimensionally and are perfectly bonded to the matrix. Models of this type proposed in the authors’ works have been programmed in the ABAQUS finite element method system [1,2]. The primary objective of this paper is to demonstrate the potential applications of these models. Numerical solutions to selected nonlinear boundary value problems are discussed. The models of heterogeneous composite materials used in this article were proposed and implemented in the ABAQUS finite element method system [1,2] in the authors’ previous works [3,4].
