The article presents the results of road tests of commercial vehicles (LDV type) powered by compression-ignition engines. The purpose of the research was to verify the impact of vehicle load on particulate matter parameters. The article contains the results of measurements of concentration, mass, and dimensional distributions (including concentration and surface area) of particulate matter emitted by the engines of these vehicles. The tests were conducted under real traffic conditions in the city and on the Poznań-Września route. The measurements utilized particulate matter emission testing equipment from AVL List GmbH – Micro Soot Sensor (measurement of PM concentration and mass) and equipment from TSI Inc. – Engine Exhaust Particle Sizer 3090 spectrometer (measurement of particulate matter dimensional distribution).
DIMENSIONAL DISTRIBUTION ANALYSIS OF PM FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES IN ROAD TESTS
The purpose of the tests described in the article was to verify how the load of vehicle affects on the PM emissions. It presents the results of road tests of commercial vehicles (LDV type) powered by diesel engines. The article contains the results of measurements of concentration, mass and dimensional distribution of PM emitted by the engines of these vehicles.
The tests were conducted in real traffic conditions on the route from Poznań to
Września. The AVL Micro Soot Sensor (measurement of the concentration and mass) and Engine Exhaust Particle Sizer 3090 by TSI Inc. (measurement of the dimensional distribution) were used to measure PM emissions. (…)
