A design of a multi-channel diagnoscope with automatic measurement range adjustment is presented. Channel switching and range changing are performed via software using a measurement card with a multi-channel analog input and logic outputs. The diagnoscope allows for comparing waveforms with a database, and an automatic signal conditioning block relieves the operator from the need to have knowledge of electronics. The final device, enriched with an external database, will be a cheaper and more flexible solution than devices available on the market.The development of automotive technology, and especially engine control systems, necessitates the adaptation of laboratory and workshop equipment to market demands. The diversity of control systems, which in practice manifests itself in the variety of controllers in individual car models, forces workshops to make costly purchases or upgrades of equipment.
Computer-aided diagnostics of a car’s electrical system can be carried out using the following methods:
• analysis of information transmitted via the diagnostic connector, • analysis of voltage values on individual control and controlled elements, • analysis of voltage values on controller pins. (…)
