NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF SURFACE ASPERITY VERTICAL ANGLES AFTER TURNING ON THE STATE OF STRESS AND STRAINS AFTER PART’S BURNISHING ROLLING In the paper numerical analysis of the influence of surface asperity vertical angles after turning on the state of stress and strains after part’s burnishing rolling are presented. The analysis covers asperities with vertical angles in range 60÷150 degrees. The results of numerical analysis from ANSYS LS-Dyna program are presented. Graphs of the dependence of the stress intensity and total mechanical strain after burnishing rolling from the vertical angles of asperity after turning are presented.NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE VERTICAL ANGLE OF SURFACE ASPERITIES AFTER TURNING ON THE STATE OF STRESS AND STRAIN OF PARTS AFTER BURNISHING ROLLING
The paper presents a numerical analysis of the influence of the vertical angle of surface asperities after turning on the state of stress and strain of parts after burnishing rolling. The analysis covered asperities with a vertical angle in the range of 60÷150 degrees. The results of numerical analyses performed in the ANSYS/LS-Dyna program are presented. Graphs of the dependence of maximum stress intensity and maximum strain intensity after burnishing on the vertical angle of asperities after turning were prepared.
1. INTRODUCTION
More frequent use of plastic treatment in car parts production processes allows for obtaining products with a longer service life. One of the plastic methods of metal finishing is burnishing rolling. This treatment allows for obtaining products with low roughness as well as creating beneficial compressive stresses [3]. The technological quality of the part after burnishing rolling depends significantly on the product’s technological quality after the previous treatment.
Essentially, the quality of the product after burnishing rolling is influenced by: the geometric structure of the surface being burnished, the relationship between the burnishing feed and the feed during the previous treatment, the profile of the burnishing element and the state of slip in the contact zone, the burnishing depth, as well as the positioning of the burnishing element with regard to (…)
