The article presents the impact of a 30W ytterbium fiber laser beam with a Galvo head on a paint coating system applied to a passenger car body. The influence of focal length changes and various parameters on the effects of removing individual coatings is presented. During the cleaning process, the adjustable parameters were: frequency, radiation power density, scanning speed, and the number of scanning beam passes. After conducting preliminary tests, it was determined that the laser presented in the article is not an ideal laser for modifying paint coatings, although satisfactory results can be achieved in removing a polymer paint coating with a metallic filler.FIBER YTTERBIUM LASER USAGE FOR LACQUER COATS MODIFICATION
The influence of a 30W fiber ytterbium laser beam with a Galvo head on a lacquer coating system from an automobile was introduced in this article. The influence of focus changing and various parameters on the effects of single lacquer coat removal were presented. During the cleaning, the regulated parameters were: frequency, power density, scanning speed, and the number of passes. After executing preliminary investigations, it was affirmed that the laser presented in the article is not perfect for lacquer coat modification, but satisfactory results can be obtained in removing a polymer lacquer coat with a metallic filler.
