The courier company TNT Express has launched an innovative service: a night service. The service is aimed primarily at the industrial sector.
TNT Express, as the first courier company in Poland, provides an express night transport service. Deliveries are carried out between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM throughout the country. Deliveries do not require the presence of the recipient – they are carried out via special drop boxes and airlocks, without the need for personal collection by the addressee.
The service was created in response to the expectations of the industrial sector. Companies in this sector expect a precisely defined delivery time for goods, e.g., spare parts for service repairs. This allows for ensuring process continuity, preventing costly downtime, and improving the competitiveness of companies that use the night delivery service. TNT addresses the service primarily to manufacturers of automotive and industrial accessories, as well as institutions representing the healthcare and agricultural sectors. The market potential is significant: the company estimates its value at approximately 250 – 300 million PLN.
Each service is tailored to the specific needs of the client and preceded by a detailed audit. The implementation of services is based on a specially developed and deployed network of night connections adapted to the needs of the clients.
In order to implement the night service, TNT has created a separate infrastructure in Poland. Its heart is a central transshipment hub for night shipments, located in Łódź. The hub supports a network of branches throughout Poland: in Katowice, Poznań, Toruń, Warsaw, and Wrocław. The branches have been located in such a way as to guarantee reaching every place in the country within 6 hours. Each branch has been assigned specialized courier staff and administrative employees coordinating the quality of night services. Additionally, a network of dedicated road connections has been created, operated by shuttle trucks. A special IT infrastructure has also been prepared, offering customers an individual system for handling and exchanging data with TNT.
