At the end of 2011, GEFCO launched a new distribution corridor for cars exported to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Tajikistan.

Vehicles are collected weekly from a platform in Germany and then transported to Riga. The Latvian branch reloads the cars onto trains, which deliver them to destination points such as Astana (Kazakhstan), where GEFCO has recently established its own branch. This organized flow allows for compliance with the quality standards required by the client, especially regarding vehicle securing operations (e.g., chocking) on trucks, trains, and in containers. Despite the significant consumption potential of this region of Asia, the volumes shipped are not constant; therefore, GEFCO – thanks to the flexibility of its offer – also carries out individual shipments.
