MAN Truck & Bus increases its commitment in India

The joint venture, which produces heavy-duty vehicles of the MAN CLA series for the Indian market and for export to Asian and African countries, was established in 2006. The product range includes a wide variety of chassis – from construction tippers to tractor units used in long-haul transport. Due to its technical equipment, comfort, safety, and production quality, the MAN CLA vehicle occupies a leading position in emerging markets as a “Premium” class truck. Already in 2008, MAN Truck & Bus increased its stake in MAN FORCE TRUCKS Pvt. Ltd. from 30 to 50 percent. Now, with the acquisition of shares from FORCE Motors Ltd., MAN Truck & Bus is assuming sole responsibility for the production and sale of MAN CLA vehicles in India and abroad.
MAN Truck & Bus, through its long-term strategic commitment, emphasizes the enormous importance of the Indian market within the framework of its cooperation strategy with BRIC countries.

– In recent years, we have benefited greatly from the know-how of our partner – FORCE Motors. The information about the Indian market obtained through this cooperation and our partner’s long-standing relationships with local suppliers have proven very helpful for our involvement in India. Now we want to further develop this business on our own – explains Georg Pachta-Reyhofen, CEO of MAN SE and MAN Truck & Bus AG.

The partnership between MAN Truck & Bus and FORCE Motors will continue. In this way, the company MAN, thanks to a supply agreement concluded between the two companies, will continue to purchase parts and components from FORCE Motors for the production of MAN CLA vehicles.
