Solaris Tramino awarded

At the MTK Trako fair in Gdańsk, the largest railway industry trade fair in Poland, the Solaris tram received two awards. Modern technical solutions, the vehicle’s design, and the comfort that Tramino offers passengers were recognized by the juries of the Ernest Malinowski Award and the Prof. Jan Podoski Award.

Solaris Tramino awarded

The low-floor Solaris Tramino received the Ernest Malinowski Award – named after the Polish road and railway engineer, builder of railways in Peru and Ecuador – for the most interesting product and technical innovation used in the railway industry presented at the fair. The Chairman of the Solaris Supervisory Board, Krzysztof Olszewski, accepted the statuette, which is a replica of the monument to engineer Malinowski. The monument to the Pole was unveiled in Peru in 1999 at the highest point of the Trans-Andean railway route he built. The Tramino presented at Trako is a unit from the contract currently being fulfilled for the Poznań MPK, which includes the delivery of a total of 45 vehicles.
Tramino was also awarded by the committee of the Prof. Jan Podoski Award – an electric traction engineer and advocate for the construction of the Warsaw Metro. The goal of the competition is to “distinguish and promote the best products, innovative technical solutions, and modern technologies,” and it is held under the patronage of the Chamber of Urban Transport (IGKM).
Additionally, the Solaris exhibition stand received an award. In the opinion of the Gdańsk International Fair, the Solaris presentation deserved the award for the “most attractive company exhibition” at the Trako fair.
