TNT Express has delivered 45 tons of food aid to Nairobi, Kenya, thereby supporting the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in feeding thousands of children from neighboring Somalia. A Boeing 767 aircraft, carrying over 3,000 boxes of “Supplementary Plumpy” – a special product for malnourished children – departed from the TNT hub in Liege, Belgium. The aid delivered to Kenya will subsequently be transported to Somalia, to the areas most affected by the famine. The shipment, as part of an aid program for 1.5 million people in Somalia, will enable the WFP to feed 6,000 starving children over the next 3 months. TNT Express has been a WFP partner in transport and logistics since 2002, providing support in the form of air transport, warehouses, and logistics experts.
