Forklift operators are responsible for managing the flow of materials within a company. Their main duties include loading and unloading goods, operating and supervising the forklift, and applying procedures to minimize losses and breakage in the warehouse. How much do they earn?
The median base salary for forklift operators was 2,400 PLN gross. The total remuneration for this position was at the level of 2,689 PLN, according to data from the 13th Salary Report for Production Positions 2010 by Sedlak & Sedlak. Every fourth employee received over 3,112 PLN per month, and the earnings of every tenth exceeded 3,508 PLN. The variable component accounted for an average of 10% of the total remuneration and amounted to 258 PLN.
How were the salaries of forklift operators shaped in different industries?
Employees in the automotive industry earned the most. The salaries of half of them exceeded 2,768 PLN. Next were those employed in the machinery/electromechanical industry (2,711 PLN) and the production of packaging and plastics (2,693 PLN). The lowest earnings were recorded for forklift operators from companies with an electronic and electrotechnical profile. The median of their salaries was 2,383 PLN gross, and the salaries of one-fourth did not exceed 2,036 PLN.

Salaries in companies with different characteristics
An analysis of forklift operator earnings in companies of different sizes shows that the highest salaries were received by those employed in the largest enterprises (over 1,000 employees). The median total remuneration for this position there was 2,914 PLN gross. The lowest earnings – 2,555 PLN – were recorded for forklift operators from the smallest entities, with employment below 250 people.
Salaries for the position of forklift operator in Polish companies were at the level of 2,570 PLN. In companies with foreign capital, they earned at the level of 2,706 PLN.
Let us look at the remuneration for this position in companies with different annual revenue sizes. The highest salaries for this position – a median of 2,991 PLN – were observed for people employed in enterprises with revenue above 1,000 million PLN. Employees of entities with revenues from 50 to 150 million PLN received the least. The median of their remuneration was 2,522 PLN gross.

How much did forklift operators earn in selected voivodeships?
The highest salaries were received by those employed in the Masovian Voivodeship. The median total remuneration there was 3,294 PLN, and every fourth person in this position earned over 3,478 PLN. Next, with a median salary of 2,904 PLN, were employees from the Greater Poland and Silesian voivodeships. Forklift operators working in the Pomeranian (2,421 PLN) and Łódź (2,541 PLN) voivodeships earned the least.
