New Year – new orders for MAN

The past year was a successful one for MAN Truck & Bus Polska. Once again, the company earned the title of leader in truck sales in Poland, delivering 2,212 vehicles and achieving a market share of 19.3%.

New Year - new orders for MAN

The turn of the year was abundant with several significant contracts for MAN. Thanks to orders from Mota Engil, Mostostal, Poczta Polska, and VOS, MAN entered the new year with an order backlog of over 170 vehicles.

The Mota Engil Group, operating in the construction industry, ordered 50 MAN TGS 41.440 8×6 BB vehicles with KH KIPPER tipper bodies, 3 TGS 26.440 6×4 BLS tractor units for low-loader trailers, 1 TGM 18.340 4×4 vehicle for fuel distribution, and 2 TGM 26.290 6×2 vehicles as bitumen sprayers. In 2008-2009, the company purchased 45 TGS tippers with KH KIPPER bodies and 2 TGM 18.340 4×4 vehicles for fuel distribution.

Another construction company, MOSTOSTAL WARSZAWA, will take delivery of 20 MAN TGS 41.440 8×8 BB tippers with KH KIPPER bodies later this month.

VOS LOGISTICS will also strengthen its fleet by ordering 96 MAN TGX 26.400 6×2-2 LL vehicles – chassis for swap bodies (large-capacity BDF containers with trailers). Out of the ordered batch, 66 vehicles will go to VOS LOGISTICS POLSKA, and the remaining 30 to Germany and the Netherlands. MAN and VOS LOGISTICS have been cooperating for about 18 years. During this time, MAN has delivered nearly 1,000 vehicles to this carrier.

Another significant order is for 31 MAN TGL trucks for Poczta Polska (Polish Post). These are TGL 8.150 4×2 BB vehicles (12 units) – chassis with a container featuring a Plandex box body with a Palfinger tail lift, and TGL 12.180 4×2 BB (19 units) with the same bodywork. The vehicles will be delivered to Poczta Polska in mid-2011. Poczta Polska has been cooperating with MAN since 1999, and previously with the STAR factory for about 30 years. They own 300 STAR brand vehicles and 80 MAN brand vehicles.

In addition to its success in the truck market, MAN has recently been successful in the sale of city and tourist buses. In 2010, transport companies from all over Poland ordered over 150 city buses, 70 of which were for Warsaw. At the end of 2010, the company accepted 76 new orders for city and tourist buses, 55 of which will be fulfilled in 2011 and 21 in 2012.

In recent years, MAN has focused its efforts on developing its service network in Poland. Despite the unfavorable economic climate, the construction of 2 proprietary MAN Truck & Bus Polska investments began in the autumn of 2009. The new Truck & Bus Centers in Gdańsk and Wrocław, located near major transport routes, were opened in the summer of 2010. Also put into operation were the Truck & Bus Service in Białystok and 2 new partner facilities: Trans-Poz in Gorzów Wielkopolski and Janusz Kosica in Piotrków Trybunalski.
