Intermec is an American company that has been operating in the automatic identification market for over 40 years. The company offers products, services, and technologies that allow for supply chain management. Key segments of Intermec’s operations include: mobile systems, auto ID devices (including barcode printers, mobile computers), as well as those operating in RFID technology. Intermec’s clients include 70 percent of Fortune 1000 companies, such as PepsiCo. Its services and products are also used by the United States Army, the British Royal Mail, and in Poland, among others, the Ministry of Justice and the Police. Strategic partners of Intermec include: Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, and Qualcomm: the company integrates its products and services with their software and systems. Market prospects have prompted Intermec to intensify its activities. One of the elements of these actions in Poland is the expansion of the office in Warsaw.
– A stronger presence of Intermec on the Polish market is related, among other things, to the migration of our clients here. These include distribution service centers, operational and warehouse centers of international companies for which Poland is an attractive location. This is influenced by our country’s location in the center of Europe, trade facilitation after integration with European Union structures, access to educated staff, infrastructure development, and relatively low labor costs – says Tomasz Widuch, Channel Business Manager, Intermec Technologies. – The value of the Polish automatic identification market is over 50 million USD, and the growth rate is 15% – 20% per year. The main recipients are the logistics, retail, industrial, and warehousing sectors.
In the first half of the year, Intermec focused on developing its partner channel. Two distributors appeared on the Polish market – AvNet and ScanSource. This resulted in a nearly threefold increase in the number of commercial partners – to over 30 companies. In the coming months, Intermec plans further development of its office in Poland, as well as investments aimed at further improving customer service quality. In the first quarter (4 months) of this year, sales increased by approximately 24% compared to the same period last year. Intermec’s goal is to achieve a 30% market share here within 3 years.
