The term “Supply Pipeline” by Dachser DIY-Logistics refers to logistics services provided worldwide for the DIY and home improvement industry. Throughout the entire supply chain—from the sender to the point of sale—Dachser offers IT-supported logistics solutions, and by combining procurement, distribution, warehousing, merchandising, and value-added services, it takes into account the individual needs of the client.
– Thanks to the close integration of all logistics departments, suppliers and retailers can, with our help, individually control the flow of goods while maintaining high service quality – said Ralf Meistes, manager of Dachser DIY-Logistics.
Dachser DIY specialists are on-site and know the specifics of local trade. Approximately 18,000 outlets are supplied according to a set rhythm. Merchandising includes both the service of stocking shelves and seasonal or promotional displays, as well as special tasks, such as store checks, assortment analyses, and shelf measurements. Thanks to these services, goods not only reach the shelf directly, but the restocking time is significantly reduced—on average from 4.5 days to one day. In this way, all products are constantly available on the market. The service portfolio is rounded off by a professional returns management system. To ensure the consistency and balance of the services provided, Dachser takes steps on many levels and in all areas of activity. This includes both the constant optimization of supply chains and individual solutions for specific industries. By using multi-customer warehousing, inbound and outbound consolidation, double-deck loading, the organization of sorting platforms, route optimization, and cross-docking, economy and ecology go hand in hand.
– Maximizing the use of transport units has a decisive impact on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions; we achieve this through intelligent supply chain management (Supply Pipeline) – stated Przemysław Kulbat, DIY specialist at Dachser Poland.
The “Supply Pipeline” solution will be presented during this year’s International Hardware Fair in Cologne, from February 28 to March 3, 2010, at the Dachser booth (booth no. 17, entrance A).
